Mark Roberts - Managing Director
Former AFL premiership player for North Melbourne (1996), Mark was one of the few players who continued to work right up until his retirement and has turned his focus and time to running all areas of the Breakaway Finance Group which includes BFG Finance & Mortgages, BFG Financial Planning, BFG Marketing, BFG Property Investments, 1Sport Realty, Breakaway Accounting, and Breakaway Financial Services.

Mark is also heavily involved with the running and direction of 1SPORT Financial Management (www.BAFG.com.au), a new Financial Management company dedicated to elite sportspeople. The same high support and products are also available from the Breakaway Group.

Mark a qualified Financial Planner, Mortgage Broker and Real Estate Agent holds the following licences and qualifications:
  • Certificate IV of mortgage broking.
  • WA Broking Licence – No 4778
  • MFAA – member / licence No 48575
  • Licensed Real Estate – Licence No 3306535

Maxine Park - Director – Breakaway Finance Group
Maxine is a current Director of Breakaway Finance Group and is in bona fide control of the WA Licence and her Licence number is Licence No 4779. Maxine has a wealth of back office, and broking experience.

Patrick McCourt - Director – Breakaway Commercial Finance
Patrick has been involved in the Finance industry for the past 25 years and brings a wealth of experience to the Group. Patrick has been friends with Mark since the 80’s including being his “premiership coach” (U/19’s) at local AFL club in Sydney – St George.

With vast experiences in all aspects of commercial finance, having worked for 15 years with Australian Guarantee Corporation Limited, Patrick held many different senior positions in the areas of Property and Commercial Finance. In 1989, he established the Property Finance Division of ORIX Australia. Since 1993 has run his own successful business, KIRMCC Group.

By joining the Commercial Finance Division, this allows Patrick to pass on his wealth of knowledge and experience and to assist Mark and his staff, to learn, develop and promote Commercial Finance services and facilities, offered by Breakaway Finance.

It allows all parties to plan ahead, and provides Breakaway Finance the ability to offer services and facilities that other finance groups do not have available for their clients

Patrick also holds Real Estate licences in both NSW and QLD; is qualified in Strata Management and has an accountancy background

Patrick has the following qualifications and licences:
  • Real Estate Certificate Course [Honours] – NSW 1984
  • Licensed Real Estate Agent (NSW) – Licence No 241135
  • Licensed Real Estate Agent (QLD) – Licence No 2602460

Martin Dixon - Business Development Manager - Breakaway Financial Services
Martin expertise is Insurance and can help all Breakaway Finance Group’s clients with all insurance requirements including Life Insurance, Total Permanent Disability, Trauma and Income protection from a variety of insurance providers. Martin has completed DFS 1, 2 and 3 which includes Insurance and Superannuation components.

Natasha Thorndyke – Financial Adviser & Mortgage Broker
Natasha (Tash) has been in the finance industry since 2001 starting at National Mortgage Company working as a Business Development Manager progressing to QLD State Manager. Tash has had previous work history as a banking and finance paralegal and is a qualified Justice of the Peace. Tash has since become a Financial Adviser with Breakaway Finance Group and holds the following accreditations:
  • Certificate IV in Mortgage Broking
  • MFAA – member / licence No 55624
  • Diploma of Financial Services (FP)
  • Natasha is an authorised representative (335317) of Avestra Capital Australian Financial Services Licence No: 292464.


Shay Leigh Hodgkins
Shay joined Breakaway Finance Group in 2009 gaining a Certificate iV in Financial Services. She uses her skills in customer service to provide clients a high level of quality service, and assisting them with their queries on all loan applications and after loan settlements.
